Jesse William Curtis Jr. (December 26, 1905 – August 5, 2008) was a United States federal judge.
Born in San Bernardino, California, Curtis received a B.A. from the University of Redlands in 1928 and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1932. He was in private practice in San Bernardino, California from 1932 to 1953. Judge, Superior Court of San Bernardino County, California 1953-1962.
Curtis was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Curtis was nominated by President John F. Kennedy on August 3, 1962, to a new seat created by 75 Stat. 80. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on August 25, 1962, and received his commission on August 27, 1962. Curtis served in that capacity until September 18, 1966, due to assignment to another court.
Curtis was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He was reassigned on September 18, 1966; Assumed senior status on December 31, 1975. Curtis served in that capacity until February 5, 1990, due to retirement.
He died in Irvine, California.
