The blistering guitar solos combined with thoughtful and sensitive rhythm work were a key factor in the worldwide success of the multi-award winning band, the Hoax, of which Jesse was not only founding member but also producer and writer. This band took British Blues from the smoky backrooms of bars and give it an injection of much needed excitement and energy compared by critics to the early days of the Rolling Stones. Jesse's playing style was frequently and very favourably compared to Stevie Ray Vaughan, but with added influences of blues greats such as B.B. King and Lightin Hopkins which, along with a relentless search for the perfect sound, led him to a style very much his own. A style which has led him to record with the likes of Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart and many others.
After forming the short lived but highly regarded band "The Davey Brothers" with brother Robin and several years as an award winning film and video director he has now be able to take time to devote to his latest solo musical project which is a culmination of a lifetime of musical exploration . Drawing on his musical loves and influences from jazz to contemporary pop, from film soundtrack and classical music to some of the great bands of the sixties, Jesse has created multilayered pictures in sound all held together by his superb guitar work supported by his huge skill as a multi instrumentalist. Lovers of his blues guitar will not be disappointed either with his playing being given a new and fresh perspective.
His skills as a producer are always great demand which is very much in evidence in this latest project and his given him the freedom to take directions in his music which are both exciting and very new.
