Gornje Dobravice is a settlement to the west of the town of Metlika in the Bela Krajina area of southeastern Slovenia. The entire area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Jugovzhodna Slovenija statistical region.[2]

The local church is dedicated to The Virgin Mary and belongs to the Podzemelj parish. It is a small building with a rounded apse, built in 1889 on the site of an earlier chapel.[3]
