Duross Fitzpatrick (October 19, 1934 – January 6, 2008) was a United States federal judge.
Born in Macon, Georgia, Fitzpatrick received a B.S.F. from the University of Georgia in 1961 and an LL.B. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1966. He was a U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. He was in private practice in Macon, Georgia from 1966 to 1967. He was in private practice in Cochran, Georgia from 1967 to 1986.
Fitzpatrick was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. Fitzpatrick was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on November 14, 1985, to a new seat created by 98 Stat. 333. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on December 16, 1985, and received his commission on December 17, 1985. He served as chief judge from 1995-2001. He assumed senior status on February 1, 2001. Fitzpatrick served in that capacity until January 6, 2008, due to his death.
He died in Jeffersonville, Georgia.
