History
In 1995 the decision was taken recreate an original medieval village in order to illustrate the life and the culture of Scotland at that time. The Trust was established and the proceeds and donations taken by the various activities (Saor Patrol[3], Combat International, Scottish Federation of Medieval Martial Arts (SFMMA)) flow into this project. This enabled over 400,000 £ so far the construction of Duncarron be made available. The plans for the project began in 1996. There were archaeologist historian and architects called in a possible authentic present appearance of the village. At the same time was looking for a suitable location and it was found in the Carron Valley. A big supporter was found by the film actor Russell Crowe with whom the chairman Charlie Allan is a close friend[4][5]. He has given the village a ram (called Rosie) from the film Robin Hood in the value of 60,000 £[6][7]. This will form one of the exhibits there.
