Rugby
Duendes Rugby Club was founded in 1957 and registered with the Unión de Rugby de Rosario that same year. After just one season the club won the promotion to the top division of the URR league system and won its first title in 1960.
Along with Atlético del Rosario and Jockey Club, Duendes is one of the most successful clubs in the city of Rosario, having won the regional league title 19 times. At national level Duendes is also the most winner team from Rosario, having won the Nacional de Clubes title twice, in 2004 and 2009.[1]
On four occasions -in 1968, 1969, 1972, 1993- the team remained unbeaten all season.
In 2009 Duendes won the inaugural Torneo del Interior, the national competition for clubs not from Buenos Aires. As winners of this tournament, the team qualified directly to the semi-finals of the overhauled Nacional de Clubes.
