The area traditionally belonged to the Styria region and is now included in the Savinjska statistical region.[2]
There are two churches in the settlement. The church in the southern part of the settlement is dedicated to Saint Leonard and is a Gothic building dating to the 15th century with a 17th century belfry. The church further up Mount Boč is dedicated to Saint Nicholas originally dates to the 16th century with some rebuilding in the mid 17th century. Both belong to the Kostrivnica parish.[3]
