Downtown at the Gardens is a 350,000-square-foot (33,000 m²) upscale retail, restaurant and outdoor lifestyle center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on PGA Boulevard and Alternate A1A, east of I-95. An open-air two-level, lifestyle center with 30 stores and restaurants, its anchors include a 16-screen Cobb Theatre, Whole Foods Market, and The Cheesecake Factory.^[1] Downtown at the Gardens is also home to three permanent art fountains and landscaped walkways and courtyards.

Initially the complex was operated by Simon Property. The complex received criticism because of its confusing design and overwhelming competition at the nearby The Gardens Mall. It became 30% unoccupied within its first few years of operation. Many of the shopping center's fixtures, such as its fountains and lush gardening, have gone unattended. On the brink of foreclosure in June 2009, Rockville, Maryland-based Berman Enterprises LP assumed ownership of the center. They have plans to add new tenants and have raised the possibility of opening up its pedestrian walkways for vehicular traffic as well.^[2]

Since purchasing the property in 2009, Berman Enterprises has overseen an upgrade. In addition to new way-finding signage, logo and branding, landscape improvements and a special events calendar, the first major capital improvement for 2010 was a new escalator linking the Cobb Theatres and Centre Court.

Guests are entertained each week by concerts in Centre Court that range from Opera and Jazz to Pop and Blues.

In November 2010, Downtown at the Gardens will open. A hand-carved Carousel featuring 27 characters will grace Carousel Courtyard, linking the properties Boulevard and restaurant coordiors. The carousel was designed to reflect the rich culture of the area. Animals on the ride are indigenous to South Florida including a manatee, dolphin, loggerhead turtle and big mouth bass, among others.

Downtown at the Gardens works with a non-profits, schools and community programs.

Downtown at the Gardens has been successful in drawing tenants to the property since being purchased by Berman Enterprises. New tenants A Latte Fun Indoor Playground and Cafe; Fro-Yotopia; Urban Home; Cartoon Cuts; The Magical Animal and more have begun to secure the properties future as a destination for shopping, dining and entertainment throughout South Florida.
