History
The band was formed by Joe Elliott from Def Leppard, London rock drummer Phil Martini, Ronnie Garrity from Raw Glory, and Paul Guerin, Guy Griffin, and Keith Weir from The Quireboys, to open for Mott the Hoople on the last night of the ensemble's tour at London's Hammersmith Apollo in 2009.[1][3] The band then decided to record an album, produced by Elliott and Ronan McHugh, which was recorded in Elliott's personal studio and basic tracking done at Moor Hall studio Bedfordshire by engineer Chris Corney.[2][3]
The band made an appearance at the 2010 High Voltage Festival, launched their own branded beer, and also announced it would be performing with Paul Rodgers in April 2011 as the opening act on the latter's UK tour.
In an interview given by Joe Elliot to Irish TV programme Ireland AM the singer revealed the support dates were never meant to happen and only occurred due to Rodgers insistence. Down N Outz will, however, play a secret headline performance (likely to be the only headline gig in the bands existence) on April 13, 2011 in Holmfirth.
In March 2011, it was revealed that the band parted ways with Ronnie Garrity, and they intend to publish original material for their third album, rather than their fourth.[4]
