- Dope (TV series)
-
Dope is an upcoming HBO television series based on the Sara Gran novel of the same name. It is being produced through Warner Bros. Television by Todd Haynes, John Wells and Christine Vachon, who previously worked together on the miniseries Mildred Pierce for the network.[1][2] Set in the 1950s, it is about a former drug addict and prostitute named Josephine Flannigan who becomes a private investigator,[3][4] and is hired by a wealthy couple to help find their heroin-addicted daughter. Julianne Moore is in talks to star in the series; she previously partnered with Haynes on the films Safe (1995) and Far From Heaven (2002).[1][4]
