Donner Valley

Donner Valley

Donner Valley (77°37′S 161°27′E / 77.617°S 161.45°E / -77.617; 161.45) is a small, mainly ice-free valley located north-northeast of Mount Thundergut in the Asgard Range, Victoria Land. Named by the New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee (NZ-APC), presumably in association with nearby Mount Thundergut, "donner" being a German word for "thunder."
