Nate has to deal with his philandering fiancee and wants to find his father, whom he has never met, while Andy is an irresponsible father and is constantly haunted by memories of his former lover. Together they journey to find Nate's father, but instead find each other and discover their true destinies. The two are encouraged to explore their past and present. Background
Asked about how and why he wrote the story, he said in an interview with Time Out Australia: "I actually met a marine and we are very, very different people and it was such an unusual circumstance but we got along so well and really clicked. We spent a couple of days together and I learnt a little bit about him, his history and background, and I dropped him off at the base and I realised that there was a lot more I wanted to know about him and so this movie is my own projection of who he might have been."[1]
