- Ditch, (magazine)
-
ditch, is an on-line literary periodical edited by the Canadian writer John C. Goodman. The magazine was launched in August 2007.
ditch, publishes poetry only. It was designed to promote Canadian experimental poetry which, at the time of the magazine’s inception, had a very poor presence on the Internet. The layout is divided into Canadian and International poets in order to provide the Canadian writers with greater visibility on the world stage.
The magazine is not arranged in issues. As new work is added to the main page, older posts are moved to the archive. Each post is accompanied by a short biography and a picture of the writer. Most of the material is original to the magazine although ditch, has published a number of book excerpts.
ditch, has published many of Canada’s more prominent innovative poets such as Erín Moure, Nathalie Stephens, David UU (David W. Harris), Judith Copithorne, derek beaulieu, Camille Martin, Natalie Zina Walschots, rob mclennan, a.rawlings, Lynn Crosbie, Margaret Christakos, Elizabeth Bachinsky, and many others.
ditch, has also published two online anthologies of Canadian innovative poetry which Ron Silliman called, “…the most ambitious books yet published in the Issuu format.” (January 5, 2010)[1]
Paul Vermeersh included ditch, in “Four Online Canadian Literary Journals You Should Know About” on Open Book Toronto (March 7, 2010)[2]
