The District of Bethel is located in East of Paulínia, to five kilometers of the center that city, near the district campineiro by Barão Geraldo. Has about 49.5 km2 and 1165 people. Bethel is the leading example of the growth of Paulínia. By 1993 the region was part of the district of Barão Geraldo in Campinas. This year was a referendum for the annexation of the district Paulínia[1], as Bethel was very attached to this city. The annexation was approved by people and area of Paulínia has been expanded.

History
The region of Bethel began to be populated by around 1889, when it was built to the Railroad Funilense. The railroad was a decisive milestone for the settlement of Barão Geraldo and Bethel Paulínia. Bethel comes as part of Barão Geraldo. From 1950 came the Alvorada Parque neighborhood, which is then expanded to the region of Avenue Constant Pavan. As Bethel grew, approached by Paulínia. The people had all the main obligations in the center of Paulinia. In 1993, where a plebiscite was 73.5% of 441 registered voters voted in Bethel annexation by the district in Paulínia.

The population is concentrated in the Alvorada Parque and the Parque das Indústrias, which is located in the main shopping district.
Urban Organization
In Bethel there are three main avenues:
- Avenida Alexandre Cazellatto Avenue;
that connects the neighborhood Alvorada Parque to neighborhoods Parque das Indústrias and the Residencial Paineiras, near the Rodovia Doutor Roberto Moreira or PLN 010.

Educational Center
Bethel is located in a center of vocational schools as composed of the ETEP, the SENAI, the CEFUP-Training Center of Public officials Paulínia as well as School Professor Domingos de Araújo, among others.
PLN 393 is located in the CPQBA (Center Multidisciplinary Research Chemical, Biological and Agricultural) of Unicamp, which conducts research and technological cintíficas.
Economy
Bethel is a major industrial center, the second largest of Paulínia after the region of Replan. Companies like Heringer, Galvani, Rhodia and Purina make Bethel a place industrialized, but with very high levels of pollution, which makes this district a place with serious environmental problems.
