District Public School Hafizabad

District Public School (DPS) Hafizabad is a famous school of the District Hafizabad. It was established in 1998. There was a need of good schools at that time and DPS was established to meet the demands of the city. It has a large building and two playgrounds. Latterly a block was made for the student classes which was L shaped and was latter named as "Boys Block".

The school has 1500 students and more than 100 staff members.

Building

The school when established in 1998 has 1 single storeyed "O" shaped building. Later on to meet the needs of time another storey was added which completed in about 1 year and new sections were formed. In 2005 another block (boys block) with "L" shape was completed in one corner of the school with about 10 class rooms and later on its upper storey completed in next year and this block is having 16 classes from Class 3 to 10 for boys. Having 2 to four sections of each class. To meet the further requirements another block was built in 2009 and has 8 class rooms. This block is for "Playgroup" I mean little kids of nursery and prep class.

Staff

The school when established had only few teachers because its strength was just about hundred students. It is necessary to mention here that first Principal of the school was Major Arshad and first student was Asad Raza Mohal but I don't know the first teacher it may be Madam Shameem. Now in 2010 this school has about more than 100 staff members. And the students are exceeding 1500 in number. Male teachers are 8 or 10 and about 65 female teachers. Principals:

Sports

Sports are necessary component of any society or school to proceed forward and this school has remembered it. It has added about two acre land mass as a playground for sport activities. It elect sports every year (except 2009). In 2009 Muhammad Irfan won the gold meddal in hammer throw and throw it about 146 feet (ball having mass 7.25 kg. Making a record in Division Gujranwala.
