Airing in time slots competing with traditional syndicated entertainment news stalwarts and familiar “talking head” anchors, Dish Nation features the most listened-to and outrageous radio personalities from across the United States. It debuted on July 25, 2011 on Fox Television Stations.[1] Filmed daily at their respective radio stations, the show highlights unreserved on-air banter, a satirical take on Hollywood gossip, augmented with current popular music, animation, images and video footage.

Radio Personalities
The radio teams include New York’s Scott & Todd, starring Scott Shannon and Todd Pettengill on WPLJ;[2] The Rickey Smiley Morning Show heard on 50+ radio stations, featuring standup comic and theatrical star Rickey Smiley; Detroit’s Blaine & Allyson on WDVD hosted by Blaine Fowler and Allyson Martinek; and recording artist DJ Felli Fel and Krystal Bee (who replaces Jessie Malay) of Los Angeles’ KPWR.
Conception
Dish Nation was conceived in 2008 by broadcast marketing veteran former radio DJ and TV weatherman, Stu Weiss. By synergizing the audiences and marketing reach of radio, television and social media, Dish Nation is able to position itself as “the next generation” of an evolving television genre. Rather than join the over saturated trend of media outlets being first with breaking celebrity news stories, the show pokes fun at the urgency and ridiculousness of it all.
Greg Meidel, who oversaw Entertainment Tonight in its heyday and launched The Insider while head of CBS Domestic Television, green lighted the limited market test of Dish Nation, opting to evolve to every genre he oversaw at CBS.
