Discourse Studies is a bi-monthly peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes articles in the field of social communication. The journal was established in 1999, and has outstanding work on the structures and strategies of written and spoken discourse, special attention is given to cross-disciplinary studies of text and talk in linguistics, anthropology, ethnomethodology, cognitive and social psychology, communication studies and law.

Scope

Discourse Studies is a journal for the study of text and talk. It features work on the structures and strategies of written and spoken discourse, with a particular focus on cross-disciplinary studies of text and talk in linguistics, communication studies, ethnomethodology, anthropology, cognitive and social psychology, and law.

Discourse Studies is abstracted and indexed in Scopus, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2010 impact factor is 0.508, ranking it 49th out of 67 in Communication.
