Biography

Peterfreund grew up near Tampa, Florida.[1] She graduated from Yale University in 2001 with a double major in literature and geology.[2][3]

Work

Ivy League

Peterfreund's first book, Secret Society Girl, is about a college student who gets tapped for a secret society. The school in the novel is based on her time at Yale.[3] The New York Observer described the book as "witty and endearing",[4] and Booklist described the book as "frivolous but fun to read",[5] Four other books were released in the series. The last one Morning Glory is based on the 2010 motion picture Morning Glory, starring Harrison Ford, Rachel McAdams and Diane Keaton.

Diana Peterfreund has also contributed to several collections of essays.

Killer Unicorns

Peterfreund has written two full-length novels and two short stories about or dealing with killer unicorns. These are Rampant, Ascendant, Errant in Kiss Me Deadly: 13 Tales of Paranormal Lore, and The Care and Feeding of Your Baby Killer Unicorn in Zombies vs. Unicorns. Both Errant and The Care and Feeding of Your Baby Killer Unicorn are stand-alone stories in the Killer Unicorn universe, while Rampant and Ascendant are meant to be read in that order.[6]
