4th Infantry Division, Philippine Commonwealth Army in Southern Luzon

During World War II, the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Commonwealth Army was established from 1942 to 1946 at the military general headquarters and military camps and garrisoned in Southern Luzon was the assigned to combat the armed forces of the Japanese Imperial military insurgency in the city of Manila and Southern Luzon, before the Post-Japanese Invasion to the Liberation of the Philippines and started the fall the engagements of the Anti-Japanese military operations to liberated in Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Mindoro and Palawan on Luzon in 1942 to 1945 to helping local recognized guerrillas and U.S. liberating troops by defeated against from the Japanese Imperial forces.

Since the First Battle of Mindoro on December 1944 between the joint and combined military forces of the Philippine Commonwealth, United States and Australia including the local guerrilla groups against the Japanese Imperial forces and the Second Battle of Mindoro on January to August 1945 between the eight months and one year main battles between the local Filipino troops under the Philippine Commonwealth Army and Philippine Constabulary units included the recognized guerrilla groups against the Imperial Japanese military forces.

On February 28, 1945, combined military forces of the Filipino troops of the 4th and 5th Infantry Division of the Philippine Commonwealth Army and the American troops of the U.S. Armed Forces units was landing beaches and they found recaptured and invading liberated from the island of Lubang with the aided by the local guerrilla resistance and they fought against the Imperial Japanese Army forces under by Second Lieutenant Hiroo Onoda. Untold History of the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army during the Post-War era

On January 15, 1946 right after the World War II, upon the reestablishment of the Commonwealth Government, all Military Districts were converted to military areas; Pursuant to Section 1 General Orders Number 46 of HAFP dated January 8, 1946. The 1st and 2nd Military Areas (IMA-IIMA) was in Luzon, while 3rd Military Area (IIIMA) in the Visayas, and the 4th Military Area (IVMA) in Mindanao. The remaining forces of the 10th MD were absorbed to Military Police Command (MPC) based at Camp Overtone, Iligan.
