Dennis Elsas is a New York City disc jockey whose radio career has spanned well over thirty years. He currently hosts an afternoon show on WFUV and a morning show on Sirius XM Satellite Radio's Classic Vinyl channel.
Elsas has also had an extensive voice-over career that includes numerous projects for HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, The Movie Channel and he is also featured as "The Voice of Rock History" at the Museum at Bethel Woods.
WNEW-FM Years
On July 11, 1971, Elsas launched what would become a 25-plus year career at WNEW-FM in New York City. During this time he became an influential voice in the progressive FM movement. On air interviews include those of: Elton John, Mick Jagger, Pete Townshend, Paul McCartney and John Lennon.
Elsas' 1974 interview with John Lennon holds a special place amongst Beatles fans, and was included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Television and Radio. Excerpts of the interview were used in the Beatles Anthology.
