Delamere Dairy

Delamere Dairy

Delamere Dairy is a UK based company founded in 1985 whose primary business is producing goats milk and other speciality dairy products such as cheeses and yoghurts, sold in supermarkets and various other outlets nationally as well as in Ireland, Italy and several other worldwide destinations.[1]

History

Delamere Dairy was founded over 20 years ago in 1985 by Roger and Liz Sutton in the heart of Delamere Forest. Their first herd consisted of only three goats, which they would hand milk to produce and sell goats cheese locally. At this time there was no market in the UK for goats milk and it was this 'gap in the market' that Delamere Dairy aimed to fill.[1] Over the next two decades Delamere Dairy grew to establish a strong market brand for goats products. Today Delamere is supplied with milk from thousands of goats from around the UK, produced mainly on traditional, family operated farms.

Products

Goats milk is delamere's primary product. They produce a whole, Semi-skimmed and Skimmed version of the goats milk as an alternative to cows milk. Goats milk has become popular with consumers who have an intolerance to cows milk.[2]

Delamere's range of products also includes a selection of goat cheeses, yoghurts and butter. The goats milk is also available as UHT milk for longlife.

In more recent years Delamere Dairy has managed to diversify its business model to supply a sterilised Cows' milk range under the brand Puremilk. Sterilised cows milk is considered a commodity product in the UK. Delamere also produces a Channel Island Cows milk for the premium end of the market.

Delamere recently launched a goats milk product for pets under the brand 'Toplife Formula'.[3] The range includes a formula for Dogs, Puppies, Cats and Kittens.
