Decompositions, Volume I, Chapter 1: Rites of Initiation is an extended play by the American experimental screamo band Circle Takes the Square that was released on August 23, 2011 through the group's own Gatepost Recordings.^[1] The promotional digital-only EP is Circle Takes the Square's first release of new material since 2004's As the Roots Undo, and will also serve and as the first chapter of the group's Decompositions Vol. 1 due out in November 2011.^[2]
