Biography

The members of Dead Rodeo blend melodic elements with harder energy and the immediacy of a stripped down sound coupled with a distinctive twang. During recording, the band’s use of traditional musical instrumentation is often subtly infused with sounds from an unexpected array of equipment, which has included an early Winchester Model 1894 lever-action rifle and a pearl-handled Colt Official Police revolver.[3]

Dead Rodeo began recording their upcoming debut album on October 23, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. On October 31, 2010 the band formally announced the launch of their official website via Twitter.[4]

The group consciously observes a fashion and design aesthetic that draws from their Southern and American West roots and sensibilities. Bullit James originally hails from Western North Carolina (WNC). His characteristic vocal style and noticeable Southern American English inflections are informed by this region. Whisky Jim is a fifth-generation Native Texan. He was born and raised in South Texas, and has been a resident of Nevada since striking out for the state in 1997. Knives was born in the arid Indian Wells Valley of east-central California. A nomadic wanderlust has seen him also call Texas, Louisiana, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada home.
