The native form of this personal name is Kovács Dávid. This article uses the Western name order.
Dávid Kovács (born on 15 March 1976 in Budapest) is a Hungarian politician, former founding member of the Movement for a Better Hungary. He served as chairman of the party since the beginnings until 2006. During his presidency the Jobbik entered into a coalition with the Hungarian Justice and Life Party (see: MIÉP–Jobbik Third Way Alliance of Parties) on the 2006 Hungarian parliamentary election. After the elections he was followed by Gábor Vona, Kovács became one of the deputy chairmen of the Jobbik.
He did not support the establishment of the Magyar Gárda, which was why he left the party along with two significant founding members on 10 March 2008.[1]
