David Hallatt

The Rt Revd David Marrison Hallatt[1] (born 15 July 1937) is a former Anglican Area Bishop of Shrewsbury.

Hallett was educated at Birkenhead School and the University of Southampton.[2] Ordained in 1963 he began his career as curate at St Andrew’s Maghull.[3] After that he was successively the Vicar of Totley, Team Rector of Didsbury and finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate)[4] Archdeacon of Halifax.[5] A keen ornithologist,[6] in retirement he continues to serve the Church as an honorary assistant bishop within Sheffield Diocese.
