The 6'5" 241 lb. right-hander (who bats left-handed) attended Santa Ana Junior College in 2006 despite having been selected by the Twins' in the 32nd-round of the June 2005 draft. With the Santa Ana "Dons," he went 3-2 with a 4.28 earned run average.[1] In his first professional season (2006) with the Gulf Coast League Twins, his 2.66 ERA ranked fourth overall in the Twins organization, but it wasn't until 2007 that Bromberg broke out as a prospect for the Twins. He went 9-0 with a 2.78 ERA for the Elizabethton Twins to earn an Appalachian League Post-Season All-Star selection and was named APP Pitcher of the Year. Baseball America also named him a Rookie All-Star.

He was also named to the Midwest League All-star team in 2008 with the Beloit Snappers, and was the starting pitcher for the Southern Division in the 2009 Florida State League All Star Game at Hammond Stadium.[2] For the season, Bromberg went 13-4 with a 2.70 ERA to earn a FSL Post-Season All-Star nod, the FSL Post-Season Pitcher of the Year award and the Jim Rantz Award for the Twins' Minor League Pitcher of the Year. In July 2010, Bromberg was promoted to the Rochester Red Wings and is in their rotation.
