Darren Uyenoyama (born October 15, 1979) is an American mixed martial artist currently signed with the UFC fighting in their bantamweight division. He is a third-generation Japanese-American and a well regarded grappling specialist.

Mixed martial arts career

Uyenoyama had his first MMA fight in 2002, and although he did win his MMA debut, he retired for five years before returning with another win.

Dream

Uyenoyama made his DREAM debut against Hideo Tokoro and lost the fight via unanimous decision.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Uyenoyama signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2011.

He made his bantamweight debut against Japanese superstar Norifumi Yamamoto at UFC on Fox: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos. He defeated heavy favorite Yamamoto via unanimous decision.
