Relevance
New Jalpaiguri is the place where the toy train to Darjeeling starts. 2343/44 connects to the Darjeeling passenger leaving New Jalpaigri at 9AM. Hence this name has been given to this train.
Route
This train runs via Burdwan, Malda Town and Kishangunj to reach New Jalpaiguri. This is a famous train on this route.
A slip route of this train has been started up to Haldibari (HDB). It reaches there at 1525 and on the return journey it departs HDB at 1645.
Timings
This train leaves Sealdah at 22:05, to reach New Jalpaiguri at 8AM the next day. Return it leaves New Jalpaiguri at 20:00hrs to reach Sealdah at 6AM the next day. A WDP4 locomotive from Siliguri shed takes the train from end-to-end nowadays.
