Danville Speakers

The Danville Speakers were a minor league baseball team based in Danville, Illinois that played in the Eastern Illinois League in 1908 and in the Illinois-Iowa-Indiana League from 1910 to 1914.

1908

In 1908, no major league baseball players are known to have played for the Speakers[1].

1910

In 1910, Medric Boucher, Cecil Coombs, Bob Fisher and Butch Hopkins, Pete Hildebrand played for the Speakers[2].

1911

Coombs, Fisher and Hildebrand all returned to the Speakers for the 1911 season. Hosea Siner and Connie Walsh played for them as well[3].

1912

Returning players include Coombs, Hildebrand, Siner and Walsh. Bert Graham and Rube Sellers also played for them[4].

1913

Graham and Walsh returned, and Otto Vogel played for the Speakers as well[5].

1914

Walt Devoy and Hod Eller were new to the team, while Vogel and Walsh returned[6].
