Early career

Kearns spent a three-year spell with playing youth team football with West Ham United in England. Before joining the Hammers in July 2007, Kearns had been the player of the tournament at the Ballymena International Tournament in 2006.[1]

Dundalk

Kearns signed for Dundalk in May 2010 after being released from West Ham, he made 12 appearances in his first season. Kearns scored his first competitive goal for Dundalk against Linfield in the Setanta Sports Cup on 14 February 2011. He went on to score two more which was also his first senior hat-trick.[2]

Peterborough United

On 30 August 2011 he signed a three-year deal for Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.[3] He made his debut for Peterborough on 24 September 2011, in a 1-0 defeat against his former club, West Ham United, coming on as a second-half stoppage time substitute for Lee Frecklington. [4]
