Playing career

Gunn first played ice hockey for the Melbourne Demons of the Victorian Junior-C Ice Hockey League in 1987.[1] In 1992 he moved up to the Melbourne Demons' Junior-B before being moved to the Senior-A team in 1996.[1][2] In 2001 Gunn moved across to the Melbourne Jets of the same league for whom he competed for until the end of the 2003 season.[3] In 2004 Gunn signed with the Melbourne Ice of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL).[3] He competed in only four games in his debut season with the Ice and recorded two assists. The Ice re-signed Gunn for the following season but only played three games.[3] After his two season in the AIHL Gunn returned to play for the Melbourne Demons in the Victorian Senior-A league.[4] He has since retired from ice hockey.[3]

Gunn was first called up to represent Australia in 2001 where he joined the national senior team to compete in 2001 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament being held in Majadahonda, Spain.[5] Australia finished third while Gunn scored three points in his five games.[3][5] After a year out of the national team Gunn was recalled in 2003 to compete in the 2003 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament Seoul, South Korea. Australia finished fourth and Gunn scored three assists in his five games for the tournament.[3][6]
