Daniel E. "Chick" McLean was an American politician who served as Mayor of Beverly, Massachusetts from 1937 to 1949[1], City Manager of Haverhill‎, Massachusetts from 1951[2] to 1955, Town Manager of Saugus, Massachusetts from 1956 to 1958, and Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee from 1958[3] to 1961.

He was a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts in 1950. He finished fourth in the Republican primary with 11.64% of the vote.[4]

Following his tenure as Republican Chairman, McLean was appointed by Governor of John A. Volpe to serve as Chairman of the State Appellate Tax Board and later as a member of the State Industrial Accident Board.
