Evansville, IndianaBats: Left Throws: Left Daniel Calhoun) (born September 5, 1986) is a Minor League Baseball Pitcher in the St.Louis Cardinals organization, he is currently assigned to their Class-A affiliate, the Palm Beach Cardinals.
Daniel Calhoun was signed by the St.Louis Cardinals as a pitcher in the 29th round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He played college ball at Murray State University, which is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference. There he was named to the Conference All Star team as a starting pitcher and was named the 2009 pitcher of the year. In 2009 he made 12 appearances including six starts for the Batavia Muckdogs, posting a 2-0 record with a 1.86 ERA, struck out 42 and walked just six in 48 innings in his professional debut season. The next season he was promoted to the Quad Cities organization, where he posted a perfect 10-0 record with a 3.75 ERA in 37 games (six starts). He did not lose through his first 49 professional appearances.[1]>
