DADIU

DADIU (The National Academy of Digital, Interactive Entertainment) is an academy located in Copenhagen and Aalborg in Denmark that educates students in the creation of computer games. The Academy is a collaboration between nine university educations and three art schools in Denmark.

Education

The program at the National Academy for Digital, Interactive Entertainment is a specialisation. The students come from eight different universities and arts schools but are taught a joint curriculum. Aside from that they meet twice in the course of two years for joint productions of four and eight weeks in duration. Productions take place in May and February/March in Copenhagen and Aalborg.

The students thus complete their ongoing studies but also receive a diploma certifying to the industry that they have completed the training at the Academy.[1]

Student work (games)

Students meet twice in the course of two years for joint productions of four and eight weeks in duration. The aim of the joint productions is to work together on developing a game. Each person participates with the specific competence gained through his or her educational background, as on a real productions.

The production is designed in close collaboration with the industry. Each production consists of seven core competencies: project manager, game programmer, game designer, game director, game artist, animator, and audio designer. In this way that production is as close to the real world as at all possible.[2]
