Cédric "Cede" Dupont (born 22 March 1979) is a Swiss musician, currently playing guitar in German metal/rock band Downspirit and Symphorce.

Biography

Cédric “Cede” Dupont, is mainly known as former guitarist for famous German metal acts Freedom Call and Symphorce. He started playing music by the age of 12 when he first grabbed a guitar.

In 1999 he joined German band Symphorce with whom he released 7 albums through Noise Records, Metal Blade records and AFM records up to the year 2010 and has been touring Europe with bands like Kamelot, Grave Digger and Sonata Arctica as well as playing famous rock/metal Festivals such as Wacken, Earthshaker Fest, Summer Breeze and Progpower USA.

From 2001–2005 he has been playing in a second band called Freedom Call (label: SPV) where he recorded 2 studio albums and 1 live album. After playing extensive tours in all his active years in Freedom Call he decided to leave the band in late 2005 to concentrate on new projects. He for example has been working on some instrumentals that finally were released in 2010 in form of his first solo album Melodrama.

In 2009 Cédric “Cede” Dupont formed his current main activity band Downspirit, that has been releasing their debut album in mid-2010 and is currently touring Europe. A new album has been announced for early/mid 2012.
