- Cyril Patrick Hankey

The Very Rev Cyril Patrick Hankey[1] was an eminent Anglican priest[2] in the third quarter of the 20th century.[3]
He was in 1886 and educated at Haileybury and Pembroke College, Cambridge. Ordained in 1911[4], he began his ecclesiastical career with a curacy at St Augustin, Kilburn.[5] After this he was Vice principal of Dorchester Missionary College. He then held incumbencies of St Matthew’s, Westminster and St Mary’s the Less, Cambridge. Later he was Rural Dean of Watford then Bedford[6]. He was appointed Dean of Ely in November 1950[7], a post he held for over 18 years. An eminent author[8], he died on 9 December 1973.[9]Notes
