It is the sequel to the Saturn title Culdcept. An expansion for the game, Culdcept Second Expansion, was released for the PlayStation 2 on September 26, 2002. The expansion was marketed in North America as Culdcept, and published by NEC Interchannel on December 4, 2003.
Culdcept Second was given a high 37 out of 40 by Famitsu magazine.[1][verification needed][2] The expansion was given a 35 out of 40.[3][verification needed][4] The game has sold over 65,000 copies to date.[5][unreliable source?]
