Crusoe 7-10 Secondary College is one of three new colleges built in line with the new Bendigo Education Plan. It is being built to replace the current buildings on the current Kangaroo Flat Secondary College site. The School was formerly known as Bendigo South West Secondary College until deciding on an official name in late 2008.

During the building works, the old buildings will be demolished as so normal classes can continue. Unlike Bendigo South East Secondary College, it will not use two campuses during the building works.

Ben Jonhstone-McCloud is still the principal. A new uniform will be phased in over two years, 2008\2009 and the new uniform will be worn as of 2010. (2008\2009, children will continue to wear the old school uniform and shoes.)
