It is located at the southwesternmost part of the island, near the town of Canaan, and 11 km (6.8 mi) from the capital, Scarborough. It is one of two international airports serving the twin isle republic. The other airport is located on the island of Trinidad, Piarco International Airport.

History/Historia
A.N.R. Robinson International Airport is located on the south western end of Tobago and is about 11 km (6.8 mi) from Scarborough. It was opened in 1940 and is a small, informal airport. Tourism is the main employment sector on Tobago, and Crown Point flights therefore carry many tourists in addition to the inter-island traffic.
Plans for the construction of a new terminal at the airport were announced in the 2010-2011 budget presentation by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. Formally known as Crown Point Airport, the airport was renamed the Arthur Napoleon Raymond Robinson International Airport on May 19, 2011 in honour of the only Prime Minister and President from the island of Tobago.
Expansion
A.N.R. Robinson International Airport will also be modified and expanded starting February 2004. The project is a part of Vision 2020. The project also includes:
- Construction of a new air traffic control tower
- Taxiway repairs
- An airport landside transit mall
- Upgrade of the electrical sub station south terminal
- Modernization of the air traffic control facility.
- A new domestic terminal has already been completed.It handles flights arriving from Trinidad.
- An Instrument Landing System is being installed at the airport.
These works will ensure that Trinidad and Tobago maintains United States Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Category 1 (highest) status.
Incidents
A.N.R. Robinson International Airport in Tobago was shut down at 8 p.m. Thursday 11 August 2011 due to a Virgin Atlantic Airways Boeing 747-400 destined for Gatwick London which inadvertently encroached on a section of the airport that was undergoing repairs and which was lit in red. As a result of the encroachment, one of the tires on the aircraft was blown out and the aircraft was disabled. In the circumstances the A.N.R. Robinson International Airport was immediately closed, while the Civil Aviation Authority and Virgin Atlantic worked assiduously to restore operations to normal. The incident left Virgin Atlantic Airways flight VF52 across the runway, The 452 passengers on board VF52 were asked to disembark one hour after the incident.
Soca artiste Machel Montano was one of the passengers.
No one was said to have been injured during the incident.
Airlines and destinations
A.N.R. Robinson International Airport has two terminals. The International Terminal was once both the regional and international passenger terminal for the airport but has been renovated to serve as an all International Terminal. It serves international cargo flights, general aviation and helicopter flights. It has seven parking positions. The Regional terminal is the main passenger terminal for flights to and from the Caribbean and Trinidad. It handles all the regional commercial and cargo passenger airline traffic. The north terminal has six parking positions.

Runways
The airport currently operates with one runway (runway 11/29). The runway is equipped with lighting, and is 9,000 ft (2,700 m) long.
