Cross Valley

Cross Valley

Cross Valley (64°16′S 56°42′W / 64.267°S 56.7°W / -64.267; -56.7) is a valley 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) long in a NW-SE direction, cutting through the mid-part of Seymour Island, which lies south of the northeast end of Antarctic Peninsula. Discovered by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition under Nordenskjold, 1901–04, and named Querthal (cross valley) because of the transverse alignment of the valley.
