- Law of Croatia
-
The law of Croatia is part of the legal system of Croatia. It belongs to the civil law legal system. It is grounded on the principles laid out in the Constitution of Croatia and safeguarded by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Croatia.
Historically it has been influenced by Austrian law, as the institutional framework was built on the base of Austrian institutions.[1] Significant historical influences were also those of the laws of and Hungary and Yugoslavia. During the Accession of Croatia to the European Union, the legal system was almost completely harmonised with European Union law.
The Law on Obligations dates to 2005.[2]
