Retroactive continuity and modern appearances

So far, August 2011, the Crazy Sues appear to be a predecessor of the All-Winners Squad. While a part of the story in All Winners Squad: Band of Heroes is focusing on the revelations of retired war time hero Young Avenger, several flashbacks to WWII provide details of the adventures of the team towards the end of the war.

The plot suggests that many war time publications of Timely Comics were in fact, in the Marvel Universe, published as propaganda of the US Military. Those pulp publications and comic books were portraying the adventures of 'real people'. Once such persons died, presumably in action, their exploits could obvioulsy no longer be published. For this reason many of the early Marvel/Timely characters only appeared once or twice in Timely comic books.[1]

Membership

The exact membership of this group is unclear. Merzah the Mystic for example is probably not an actual team member but worked with the Sues. The same goes for Captain America, Bucky and the Victory Boys, who all worked together with the Crazy Sues. Currently it is assumed that those characters either did not have super powers or didn't received them through the 'enhanced soldiers program'.
