Council Rock (Cooperstown, New York)

Council Rock (Cooperstown, New York)

Council Rock is located near the beginnings of the Susquehanna River near the shore of Otsego Lake in Cooperstown, New York. It is a large boulder whose top is above the water's surface and can be seen from shore. It is believed to have been a meeting place for Native Americans before their flight from the area following the American Revolutionary War.
