Contents
College and high school career
Allen attended North Marion High School in Ocala, Florida prior to being recruited to The Citadel.[2] Allen posted 10 tackles and 5 interceptions in his career at Citadel, returning two for touchdowns.[3]
Professional career
Pre-Draft
Prior to the 2011 NFL Draft, Allen was considered a 'sleeper' by draft analyst Mel Kiper and expected to be selected in the 3rd or 4th round.[2] Prior to the draft, Kiper described Allen as "a big corner who runs well, tests well athletically and has good strength".[2] He was drafted in the 4th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
