Cornice Channel

Cornice Channel

Cornice Channel (65°15′S 64°15′W / 65.25°S 64.25°W / -65.25; -64.25) is a narrow channel separating Galindez Island from the east part of Skua Island in the Argentine Islands, Wilhelm Archipelago. First surveyed in 1935-36 by the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) under Rymill. So named in 1954 by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) because a prominent cornice overhangs the ice cliff on the Galindez Island side of the channel.
