In 1789, a cyclone hit Coringa. A strong storm surge resulting from it killed 20,000.[1]
On November 16, 1839 another disastrous cyclone struck east India with terrible winds and a giant storm surge. Once again Coringa suffered great damage. More than 20,000 people died.[2][3][4]
