Copland Peak

Copland Peak (71°27′S 73°16′W / 71.45°S 73.267°W / -71.45; -73.267) is a peak 3 nautical miles (6 km) northeast of Mussorgsky Peaks on Derocher Peninsula, southwest Alexander Island. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from U.S. Navy aerial photographs taken 1967-68 and from Landsat imagery taken 1972-73. In association with names of composers in the area, named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Aaron Copland (1900–90), American composer.
