- Clockwerk
Clockwerk is the chief antagonist in the
Sly Cooper series ofvideo games for thePlayStation 2 . He is a large Russian-Byelorussian-Serbianowl who has replaced his body parts withrobotic ones. He was voiced byRoss Douglas , who later voicedJean Bison in .Biography
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus Clockwerk is thousands of years old, and has been kept alive by his hatred of the Cooper Family, of whom he was a rival. After Sly was born, Clockwerk founded the
Fiendish Five , leading them in an attack on the present Cooper family. Clockwerk is responsible for the murder of Sly's family and the theft of the Thievius Raccoonus, which contained all the family's thieving secrets. He was a mysterious figure for much of the game, until he battled Sly in his headquarters in the Krack-Karov Volcano.Based in the volcano, Clockwerk had developed a giant Death Ray for unknown reasons. Proving himself a most dangerous adversary, he captured
Carmelita Fox and used her to lure Sly into his gas chamber, nearly killing the both of them. Bentley, hacking into Clockwerk's systems, managed to save them from certain death. Confronting him through the use of a jetpack, Sly learned of Clockwerk's past, which had been hinted at by images of him seen in recovered sections of the Thievius Raccoonus. The two fought, with Sly gaining aid from Carmelita, and Clockwerk was defeated. During the battle, he revealed that he had left Sly alive to show the world that the Cooper Clan was nothing without the Thievius Raccoonus, but Sly proved him wrong, saying: "The Thievius Raccoonus doesn't create great thieves. It takes great thieves to create the Thievius Raccoonus." After the end credits, a view is given of Clockwerk's remains floating in the lava, and one eye lights up, then it shows a scene of Murray screaming.
=Clockwerk continued to torture the
Cooper Gang in the form of his brain, two lungs, stomach, heart, eyes, talons, wings, tail feathers and frame. These components were recovered byInterpol and put on display in a museum inCairo . A criminal organization known as theKlaww Gang stole Clockwerk's body parts, using them for their own purposes. Sly and the Gang collected these during their travels, but all were stolen from them by Klaww Gang memberJean Bison , who sold them to his associate Arpeggio. The robot bird's body would eventually be put back together at the headquarters of the Klaww Gang member Arpeggio. Constable Neyla, who had previously been assumed to be a "good cop", would merge with Clockwerk to form his evil reincarnation, Clock-La. In the final level of the game, Clock-La captures Sly's friends Murray and Bentley and then leads Sly on a dangerous chase through the skies over
Paris . Sly once again succeeds in defeating his old foe, and at this point, the true source of Clockwerk's power, the Hate Chip, is discovered. Even after the explosion, Clockwerk's parts remained in perfect condition, as if nothing had even happened. After the Hate Chip was destroyed by Carmelita, Clockwerk's metal body immediately deteriorated, forever eliminating the threat to Sly and his friends. Unfortunately, ending Clockwerk's evil cost a terrible price, as Bentley was injured by Clock-La's falling beak, leaving him unable to use his legs from that day on.
=He was mentioned when there was a flash back of the previous game at the end of that game, Sly was saying "When Bentley was injured during the whole Clockwerk affair".
Personality
Accurately described as a monster, Clockwerk was obsessed with proving himself superior to the Cooper Clan. He never in his life had feelings or pity (like his mind-to-be Neyla) he can be identifyed as a psychopathic
serial killer .Components/Weaponry
Clockwerk's biological owl body was at some point replaced by highly advanced robot parts constructed from seemingly indestructible metal. This mechanical form was equipped with missiles, flamethrowers, laser emitters, and launchers that could fire electrified rings and mech eggs that could launch minichopers it also had an energy weapon. "Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus" also featured a repair system, which Sly had to beat in order to defeat Clockwerk once and for all. In "Sly 2", Clockwerk's body was broken down into a number of components, all of which were divided amongst the members of the Klaww Gang. Parts and uses include:
*Clockwerk Tail Feathers : Used by Dimitri, the Clockwerk Tail Feathers were put to use as printing plates for his Paris counterfeiting operation. Because of their metallurgical properties, the Tail Feathers would have never worn out.
*Clockwerk Wings : Taken by Rajan, the Clockwerk Wings weren't put to any practical use. Instead, Rajan had them mounted on a statue in his palace, where he hoped they would bring him prestige.
*Clockwerk Heart : Another of Rajan's parts, the Heart acted as a powerful pump that allowed Rajan to grow illegal spices at much faster rates than normal. Half the Heart was used in this manner, while the other was attached to the end of Rajan's staff, allowing him to unleash electrical attacks.
*Clockwerk Eyes : Components with powerful entrancing qualities, the Clockwerk Eyes were given to the Contessa, who intended to use them to enhance her own hypnosis machinery.
*Clockwerk Lungs and Stomach : Given to Jean Bison to transport illegal spice across Canada, the Lungs and Stomach allowed him to keep his Iron Horse trains running all day and night without stopping.
*Clockwerk Talons : Razor-sharp blades capable of slicing through plates of steel, the Clockwerk Talons were used by Jean Bison in his lumber jacking enterprise.
*Clockwerk Brain : The final Clockwerk part given to Arpeggio. He did not use it for anything like the other Klaww Gang members, as his view of the parts was different.
*Hate Chip : Power source of the Clockwerk Frame, the Hate Chip is what gave the Clockwerk parts their seeming immortality. Once it was destroyed, the Clockwerk parts faded into nothingness. All these parts assembled would create the Clockwerk Frame. Also at the end of Sly 2, Sly remarks that nothing could damage the Clockwerk Parts, yet in the final battles with Clockwerk in the first Sly Cooper and Clock-La in Sly 2, the parts can be seen and as the battle goes on are clearly damaged beyond repair such as the Clockwerk wings when you shoot Clockwerk down in Sly Cooper in the second phase of the final battle.
