‡ National team caps and goals correct as of 21 May 2011Colin Albert Murphy, born 19 March 1991 in Onehunga, is a New Zealander footballer playing as midfielder or defender for Boston College in the American NCAA and the New Zealand national under-20 football team. He has played in New Zealand for Onehunga Sports and was previously part of the New Zealand national under-17 football team which competed in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup. In 2011 he participated in the 2011 OFC U-20 Championship, and in turn qualified for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Accomplishments
Colin played the 2007 and 2008 seasons at Northfield Mount Hermon after playing the previous two years at St. Paul's Collegiate in Hamilton, New Zealand. He earned All-New England honors as senior midfielder at NMH. He was twice captured by Western New England Prep School Soccer Association (WNEPSSA) all-star accolades. He also served as NMH team captain in 2008. He has accumulated 19 international caps with both the New Zealand U-17 and the New Zealand U-20, including three while playing for New Zealand in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Colin has started and completed all matches he has played during both world cups. He also competed on a pre 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup tour in United States, South America, and South Korea. Early in his career he played club soccer with Papatoetoe AFC, capturing Auckland city U-17 and U-19 titles. He is currently representing New Zealand in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He also is a member of the Boston College Men's Soccer Team.
