Clyde Mandelin

Clyde D. Mandelin[1] is a professional Japanese-to-English translator. He works for the anime distributor Funimation Entertainment and the video game localization agency Babel Media. He is also a fan translator under the moniker Tomato, sometimes abbreviated to Mato, was the co-founder of the EarthBound fansite Starmen.net,[2][3] and also runs EarthBound Central, a personal blog exploring the minutiae of and culture surrounding the EarthBound series[4] . His fan translation of Mother 3 has been praised by players and the gaming industry, including members of Nintendo of America and Square Enix.[2][3][5] As a fan translator, Mandelin's most recent achievement is the completion of the Mother 1 half of Mother 1+2.[6]

Mandelin has worked on various anime series including Dragon Ball, One Piece and Lupin the 3rd.[2] He has also translated some movies, such as Summer Wars, some manga and short stories as well as the novel Ring by Koji Suzuki.[1]
